Anastasia VanderMost

Aerials Silks | Aerial Hammock | Aerial Hoop

Anastasia’s aerial arts journey began in Saskatoon when she was searching for something more engaging and meaningful than her usual gym routine. Drawn by the promise of creativity and strength, she signed up for a weekly silks class, discovering not just a new form of movement but a community that inspired her to push her boundaries. As her passion grew, so did her commitment—soon she was attending both silks and hoop classes, relishing the challenge and artistry each discipline brought.

When her studio expanded, in 2018, Anastasia eagerly embraced new opportunities, exploring aerial hammock and diving into teaching. Taking on her first silk classes as an instructor, she quickly discovered the joy of guiding others—watching beginners build confidence and seasoned students break through plateaus. In 2021, Anastasia became a co-owner alongside two fellow aerial artists, she found new purpose in creating a welcoming space for every student. She taught silks, hammock, and hoop, always encouraging people to celebrate their growth, from small victories to major milestones.

In 2025, Anastasia moved to Abbotsford, joining AcroFit Aerial Fitness and the Dynamic Aerial and Acrobatics program. Her teaching philosophy continues to centre on fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where students feel safe to explore their abilities and step out of their comfort zones. She believes aerial arts are not just about physical strength, but about building resilience, creativity, and confidence that translate into everyday life. Anastasia loves working with newcomers, helping them discover the joy and empowerment of aerial movement, as well as challenging experienced students to deepen their skills and find new ways to flow through complex sequences.

For Anastasia, aerial arts are a lifelong practice that keeps her strong, mobile, and inspired. She encourages everyone to embrace their progress, celebrate each step forward, and learn from both successes and stumbles.

Anastasia has successfully taken Jill Franklin’s level 1 teacher certificate in Silks and Paper Doll Militia level 1 in Lyra/hoop teacher certificate and is registered with the British Columbia Parks and Recreation with her Group Fitness certificate.  She is a group fitness leader with the City of Abbotsford.   When she is not at the studio or the community center teaching classes, she can be found outside hiking or gardening.  She also enjoys camping with her husband or having a lazy day inside with their two cats.
